| | craig fox AKA 3xp10i73r Written by stephen miller on 2007-04-19 08:58:17 Has anyone of you heard of a hacker called 3xp10i73r? I was talking to one of my freinds hwo is a soliciter for Manchester city magistrates court and he was talking to me about a case in 2007 where a twenty year old hacker 'Craig fox' hwo calls himself '3xp10i73r' has hacked into the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). I find it interesting as he apparently got away with it scott free. He told me that this 'Craig fox' was working as a programmer for a small company in the Rochdale lancashire area and the network administrator for that company was alerted by suspiciouse behavioure ie (rootkits keyloggers ect) and began to investigate. The determined administrator after three weeks of searching found sectret documents from nasa, usernames and passwords,ip addresses, log files ect. This was passed on to authoraties and theye said that craig fox is a well known hacker with high qualifications in IT security "such as CEH" and whene he was eightenen years old theye suspected him of writing a deadly virus. Things really dug deeper whene theye found that this attack on nasa was made to look like it was happening from some inoccent persons computer. He didn't go into to much detail with me but he said that due to lack of evidence and the fact that theye could not directly catch him red handed that theye had to let him go "without even a fine!". I was shocked whene he told me this and it really makes me wonder what the digital criminal world is coming to whene this sort of stuff hapens. stephen miller.
